This weekend was great in many aspects and was so wearing in others. We all went to Gardner's Village. All the shoppes are decked out in Halloween gear. What more could this girl want right? They have all their witches out and ready to play. It was a fun sight to see, all except for the whole population of Utah was there. I swear by it. It was so claustrophobic walking down the sidewalks. Here are some photos, that show our enjoyable time. P.S. The Carmeled apples were delish! And we figured out how to make them correctly! So, we shall be trying that adventure soon. You would think they are easy, but they are not. :)
It was fun, as you can tell.
I was pondering about my love [obsession] of Halloween. I have said it before and i will say it again. I owe it all to my Father. I have such amazing and fond memories of Halloween because of him. It was always a big event. My father a master pumpkin carver, would carve the most meticulous pumpkins. He somehow managed to include our last name in them. Maybe spelling out "LUND" in the teeth of the pumpkins. I think everyone on the block, no no, the neighborhood knew that; if you wanted a good scare Halloween night, you went to the Lund's residence. My Dad would always set up a scary dummy on the porch, then Halloween night he would be that dummy and scare the wits out of people. When people became privy to his trickery, he set up two dummies. Leaving the trick or treaters to determine which one was real or not. I could go on and on, but I really do owe it to my Dad and his love of Halloween. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't have this passion for it. I have so many fond memories of home made costumes, decorations and props. It will definitely be a tradition from here on out in my family...when I have a family.
Until Next Time,
Peace & Love
