Fabulous....right
I was invited to head South for a weekend by the pool in Vegas. I was so excited especially for my glow in the dark legs. Yes, they cried for the sunshine! :)
It was a great little escape that was well needed. The drive was awesome with my amazing friend Em. We were geared up with our snacks, soda and gas station coffee. (it tasted just as delish as it sounds.)
It rained in Vegas while we were there. So pool time was not existent. BUT I had one amazing experience.
Em's cousin wanted to go to the m&m factory on Saturday. We were all pooped from walking around all day. We offered up to take the two 13 year old girlies to the m&m factory. Once we hit the strip, all I could do was pray and corral these little girls between Em and I. The world there, and everywhere else offers so many things that are deceiving to us. They are candy coated pleasures with big consequences. You couldn't walk down the sidewalk without a 'clicker' saying vulgar nonsense, or some drunkard shouting at us.
I thought to myself, I wonder how many people don't realize that what the world has to offer is 9 time out of 10 deceiving? How easily we are targeted and marketed into falsehood? While walking down the street all I could pray was
'Lord please keep my mind sheltered from my surroundings. Please keep these girls naive to what is going on around them. Jesus I pray that walking down this street I may be a light in this darkness. I pray that I will always remember this world has nothing in comparison to what you give me.'
Simple enough. Your checkbook is where your heart is. Is it filled with support for the world, or is it filled with support for Jesus?
Em and I on our drive back home! Love this lady!
