There are always wonderful lessons to be learned in life, and I swear I've been learning a lot of them the past couple of weeks. Its amazing how minuscule the lessons are, but what a HUGE impact they have on my life. I love it.
Asking yourself are you a Leader or a Follower? We all want to say a leader right?? Well I know I do, and I like to think that I am, but I'm not the kind of leader I should be. I would love to be a leader like my Grandparents are leaders. They are the leaders that may be the whole working and functioning parts of a play, but rarely take the credit for it. They are the type of leader that makes the rest of us "leaders" think "Well I want to be that way" and I think that it has taken them, time, love, and devotion to be able to live that way. I would love to live that way.
To get to the point, the lesson that should be learned is, being a true leader does not consist of taking credit for everything you and your team accomplishes, but letting your team walk away with the thought that THEY did it. They accomplished it and what a wonderful feeling it must be. It goes back to my kindness posts. That you can never fully enjoy something if you don't expect anything else in return.
My goals should be self improved to be more people serving. So I've been wanting to set a self improved goal of a schedule. I want to be more systematic in my life.
I find that I am a much happier Ashley when I am. Getting there is the hard part. I'm trying to take baby steps in getting there and its slowly helping.
These are my goals, they may be small to some, but some of them are a feat to me!
-I want to wake up at 5:30 and spend an hour for my devotionals.
-I want to make dinner every night, and do the dishes every night.
-I want to work harder at my job.
-I want to walk my puppy every evening.
-I want to keep up on my laundry/my house cleaning
-I want to read at least an hour everyday.
-I want to do something creative every night.
Those seem like too many things to do in a day, but I think I can accomplish it. This is what I have done so far to accomplish my self improving goals. I have gone grocery shopping for the week and bought specific dinner items to make each night. I'm going to try and do 1 load of laundry every night. Meaning from hamper, to washer, to dryer to hanger. ALL THE WAY. I can create something crafty after Drayton and I eat dinner, in our down time and then an hour before bed reading my book. It sounds so simple to write down, but its a big feat for me to accomplish. I'll tackle these small things, and then the bigger things will come so easily. If I can create a leader within myself, I can be a good leader to other people and that is my ultimate goal.
Until Next Time,
Peace & Love
