A knot in my heart.
It calls to me. I swear it, I dream about the wonders it can create. There is something so amazingly soothing about crocheting. It is amazing to me the things that a simple piece of string can become. Anything, close your eyes and I bet you it can be created.
It must be a gene that is passed down. I learned from my Momma and her from my Grammie. I learned to crochet when I was little, and forgot about it until a couple of years ago. Since then, it has woven its way back into my heart, and created such a massive knot, I think it shall never be unwound. I started out with scarves, they were ugly and crooked. Yet I made 23 of them in two months time and donated them to a local shelter. I hope those who wear them now are warm, as those were the thoughts I had when making them. In one sense I feel bad for those who wear them, they were so incredibly ugly. :)
Then, I found cotton. Boy did that become my best friend. I started making dishcloths. They started out like 5 cornered squares. and soon they became tight even squares, that looked quite good. Then scrubbies, pot holders, warmers, dish towels, hats and once again scarfs.
So I created these little hooters. :)
Then the best part of it all. My Grandma gave me one of the best gifts. Crochet needles from my Great Grandma (My Grammie) and here they are. . .
I don't quite have a full set, but so close. I have a childlike idea about these. They are like the tennis shoes that made you run faster, or jump higher. THey make me crochet faster, more even, and cleaner stitches. I love them, I love what they do for my soul.
Simply I love the wonders they create and how they seem to speak to my soul.
Until Next Time,
Peace & Love
