Halloween 2009

Let me prefiset this by a short story. Halloween is my favorite time of the year. It is my favorite time of the year thanks to my Dad. Every Halloween we would make a scary dummy and place him on the porch swing. Come Halloween night, my Dad would dress up in the scary dummy costume and scare the little kids! This was far better than trick or treating! It was always a big deal to go to the "Lund's" house on Halloween. If you wanted a good scare you knew where to go. So I have this fond memory of halloween and how much fun it is to dress up.

This Halloween we had a party at my sister's. Party as in, J'Amy, Eric, Maycie, Kayla, Drayton and myself. We are a hoot let me tell you! My sister came over to my house to trick or treat, and to gander at our festivly spooky porch decorations. We grab our bags,

pumpkins and we're off to go trick or treating! We drove out to Phyliss and Kim's h

ouse (Eric's Parents) to show the girls off!

Here we have Eric: a Punk Rocker, Maycie: a Bumble Bee, Kayla: a Lady Bug, J'Amy: a Witch, Me: a Vampire and Drayton: a Vampire.

After showing the girls off, we headed back to J'Amy where we've planned out our Halloween tradition of Broccoli cheese soup in bread bowls! The whole way home Drayton and I complaining we are starving! We get home and J'Amy and I start making the soup pronto! Getting snack foods out to tide the hungry over. We realize we didn't have juice that we wanted and sent the boys on their way to the grocery store -- the best place for two hungry guys to go right? -- and off they went to get us some juice! Trick or Treaters came and went and Maycie screamed "Trick or Treat" at each one what knocked on the strobe lit door. J'Amy and I were in the kitchen when we hear a chain saw. . . one of her neighbors is chasing the little kids arond with a chainsaw! (J'Amy by the way is mortified of them!) We were a little weirded out by the sound of children screaming and a chainsaw blaring. Then all of a sudden "BAM BAM BAM" on J'Amy's back door. We both look at each other with the look of "Did you really hear that" Then again "BANG BANG BANG" I just said, "Its got to be the boys just playing with us right?" "I don't know I hope so. I hope its not like neighbor kids thinking this is funny" my sister said. "Well, I'll go look" I say. Meanwhile, J'Amy grabs a couple kitchen knives out of the knife holder -- ya know just in case--. I open the door to this. . .

5 pumpkins carved with the phrase "Ashley Will You Marry Me?" Drayton standing on the patio waiting for me. It took me a second to realize what was going on. Seconds before I thought I was going to be entering into some horrifying scary movie scenario and now, this? I walked down the stairs and kept hearing my sister in the back ground going "Oh my gosh on my gosh!! I need the camera where is the camera!" These pictures are what follwed next. . . The happiest moment of my life.

Drayton got down on one knee and asked me -- ME! -- to marry him. Me he chose me out of everyone in the world! I feel like the luckiest person! I started bawling obviou

sly and said "Yes!" and his slid the most amazing ring on my finger. . .

Again, Halloween is my favorite holiday for more reasons than one! I'm so excited for the things to come and plan! We've not set a date yet, but we will be looking at a cale
